Frequently Asked Questions
What is an online notepad?
An online notepad is a browser-based text editor that lets you write, edit, and save notes without installing any software. NotepadDrop runs entirely in your browser with no account required.
Are my notes saved automatically?
Yes. Your text is automatically saved to your browser's local storage as you type (with a short debounce delay). No manual save action is needed.
Where are my notes stored?
All content is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. Nothing is sent to our servers or stored in the cloud. Your notes never leave your device.
Are my notes private?
Yes. NotepadDrop is privacy-first. Your text never leaves your browser. We cannot access, read, or share your notes. There is no server-side storage or sync.
Do I need an account to use the notepad?
No account is required. You can start writing immediately. The tool works without registration, login, or email verification.
Can I download my notes as a text file?
Yes. Click the Download button in the toolbar to save your current content as a .txt file with your chosen filename.
What happens when I refresh or close the page?
Your notes persist. When you return to NotepadDrop, your last session (text and filename) will be automatically restored from local storage.
Does the notepad work on mobile devices?
Yes. The notepad is fully responsive and works on mobile browsers. All features including find/replace, word count, and file download are available on mobile.
Clear Notepad Workspace?
This action will clear all current text in the editor. Stored local content will be reset.
